Changes to the Workplace Gender Equality Act

Changes to the Workplace Gender Equality Act

Parliament recently passed a series of legislative reforms to the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012 in an effort to close the gender pay gap. These reforms impact reporting to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) and include a requirement for WGEA to publish employer gender pay gaps for the first time in early 2024.

CEO of WGEA, the Hon. Mary Wooldridge has been invited to speak to ACCI members on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, about the significant impact on employers across Australia.

With reforms to start taking effect in late 2023, ACCI would like to help members better understand the changes and their desired result, as well as provide an overview of how to improve gender equality in the workplace.

Following her keynote address, Mary Wooldridge will join ACCI CEO, Andrew McKellar for a Q&A session before opening the floor to members for questions.

More information on the legislative changes can be found on the WGEA website.
